About
GWEN is a young artist from Biel, known for her melancholic yet powerful sound. Her intimate lyrics offer a deep insight into her often crowded mind - raw, honest, and direct. Solo or accompanied by her band, she creates emotional and captivating moments of live music.
From a young age, GWEN was influenced by different female artists like Roxette, Christina Aguilera and Madonna. As a teenager, she taught herself to play the piano to accompany her singing. The guitar followed soon after. Writing is another of GWEN’s great passions. In addition to crafting lyrics for her songs, she also writes poetry in English, German, and Swiss German.
GWEN released her debut single “Flicker” in 2024 in collaboration with La Gustav, the Academy for Contemporary Music. As part of this project, she performed at major festivals including Seaside and Gurten. The following year, she won the Lake Live Contest in Biel, marking the beginning of her solo career. Since then, she has performed across Switzerland, both solo and with her band for example at Art Beat (Biel) and at Lac Noir Festival (Fribourg). In addition to performing, GWEN has been curating intimate living room concerts since 2025 under the title “Couch Sessions.” These events aim to provide an open-minded platform for emerging artists and foster connections among diverse audiences.

Couch Sessions
The Couch Sessions began in February 2025 with a simple idea: to create a space where different artists could share their talents – without pressure, without the need for perfection. The very first session featured Ronya May, Gina Pelosi, and GWEN.
At the heart of the Couch Session are openness, curiosity, support – and most importantly, diversity. Whether it’s music, comedy, spoken word, poetry, magic, painting – anything creative has a place in the living room and on the couch.
In this small, intimate setting, special moments unfold. Relaxed, real, and a little bit magical.
